So I’ve been suuuper ill the past 6 days, but I’m always remembering to give myself a bit of self loving and this massage oil came in great handy! I am in love with the smell of this. For me, the rose is the main scent with undertones of almond. The bottle isn’t squeezy so you pretty much have to shake this to get it out. I gave myself a bit of a boob massage last night because honestly, I didn’t have the energy to move much further than them! Did this cause me to be more aroused than usual? I couldn’t say for sure it did, but I was really relaxed and I did have an excellent night sleep! It felt so nice on my skin and its left it feeling pretty soft. The smell doesn’t last forever, but for the time I used it I felt it was suitable. Recommended, just wish it also came in a bigger size!

So this oil smells really nice! At first smelling the open bottle I didn’t think it smelled much at all. But as soon as its out and applied it smells lovely. Not overpowering either. The scent itself is very arousing. Although that may have been the massage too! Its a good oil for massaging and doesn’t dry out to quickly nor is it too messy! I have been shopping with Lovehoney now for many years and I have full confidence in there products, however this is the first massage oil I have purchased from this company. I was really skeptical as I usually buy my massage oil from a specialist online retailer. I was intrigued into this purely because of the price at £10 which is a third cheaper then others I buy. The massage oil comes in a small basic plastic bottle. It’s not going to look pretty on your dressing table nor does it look like a spa product but it sure makes your room smell like one. I really like the scent arouse, it gives of a citrus woody smell. It’s a strong smelling product without being over bearing. A lot of strong smells can sometimes give me headaches but I didn’t get any with this. The oil does feel a bit greasy at first when applied but it soon absorbs into your skin, leaving your skin feeling silky and smooth. The oil has a really light feel to it and pours out of the bottle at a good pace. What I like most about this massage oil is you really don’t need a lot of it, a little goes a long way. I have used this massage oil around 5 separate occasions and not even a fifth has been used so far. I would definitely recommend anyone on a budget to try this massage oil as I think it’s really good quality product for the price.

I was surprised that the oil itself felt so incredibly silky on my skin. No surprise, it made for an amazing J/O lube experience. At the same time, fragrances, perfumes, colognes, beard oils, etc., are all very subjective and extremely personal. Lovehoney Apothecary Arouse Massage Oil is a pleasantly-scented, oil-based lubricant intended for external use. I found small quantities of this oil to last quite a while before fully absorbing into my skin, which left it soft and moisturized. I have tried massaging various parts of my body, as well as in a few solo male masturbation sessions, and found the oil plenty slippery in all cases. The drop-dispensing cap makes it easy to control how much oil you are applying; squeezing or gently shaking the bottle encourages drops to come out faster, otherwise, they dispense at a reasonable pace. A little bit of oil seems to be more than enough for massaging needs, but I’ve been able to achieve a slipperiness similar to water-based lubricants by continuing to add more. The scent is extremely subjective, but I really enjoyed it with this oil. I didn’t find it too overpowering, but it was definitely prominent. To me, the scent was somewhere between a subtle lemon/citrus and a slight coconut; I do use a coconut body wash, so that is likely a contributing factor. The packaging describes the scent as including citrus, lemon rhind, and woody notes, so it seems pretty true to its advertising. The scent didn’t seem to take over my room too much, but a few pairs of my underwear have retained a hint of it after washing; since I enjoy the scent, I don’t mind. After oil-related activities conclude, I find excess oil to wash off my skin easily with soap and water. However, I did find it to leave some very light stains on a few pairs of cotton underwear, even after washing. I have read a few other reviews that mention sheets not being stained by this oil, so it could depend on the type of fabric. I am not knowledgeable about fabric, so I can’t say for sure without testing; unfortunately, my sheets are also cotton, so I will leave that for someone else to test. I should also mention that a nice plastic nipple on the cap securely plugs the dropper hole when screwed on. The nipple should significantly reduce the chance of oil leakage if the bottle were to be tipped over or dropped, provided the cap is secured. Given the nature of oil, I appreciate the extra care taken with the design to ensure it stays in the bottle, rather than all over my shelf or floor.
