We received this set to test and review. It comprises a purple satin Basque with black lace trim and a faux ‘lace-up’ panel with ‘pearl’ buttons at the front and a matching purple satin G string. The Basque is made in polyester satin with black nylon lace trim at the sides, the split front and the bra cups. The cups themselves are slightly padded and underwired, which is pretty much an essential for us as my wife, at 71, needs the support now. The split panel at the front is backed by a fine white nylon mesh. The Basque is boned to hold its shape and it does this very well. the four suspender straps are permanently attached which less useful for us as she prefers hold-ups rather than stockings. At the back the Basque fastens with 12 hook and eye fasteners. There are 3 rows of eyelets giving about 1″ of adjustment. The G string has no trim and no adjustment. It is simply a triangle of purple satin material with a waist band and a crotch strap. The gusset is cotton. My wife is a Size 12 and this Basque (Size M) was a good fit. Initially it felt a little tight but once everything had been wiggled into position she found it to be very comfortable and it did an excellent job of shaping her body and supporting her breasts. The G string fitted her well and looked good too. Our only complaint, and this is purely personal preference, is that the hook and eye fastening system precludes the possibility of her being able to surprise me by wearing it without my knowledge. It definitely needs two people to get her into it. On the other hand it may be that, as a couple, you enjoy dressing and undressing each other in which case hooks and eyes are far more erotic than a zip. The items are labelled as cool wash only with no tumble drying or ironing but this is normal for man made fibres nowadays.

I really wanted to love this Basque – it has everything I love in its design…..the perfectly lush colour, pretty pearls and embellishment – and its simple enough to put on…. However the only thing that let it down for me is that i’m a tall 5’11 and its too short for my body :(. I either have to have it higher up so it fits by bust – leaving too much of my midriff uncovered….or if I pull it down my boobs are left hanging without any support. But that’s only me – the quality of the item was great, its nicely designed..and sexy as hell…just perhaps for those of a shorte stature 🙁

So this set arrived for us to test. It consists of a purple/red wine coloured basque and matching g-string panties. The basque has padded, satin lined cups with satin panels with a criss-cross detailing at the front lined finished off with pearl style beads. It is lightly boned with some black lace to finish it off. The suspenders are not detachable and the clips are metal. The g-string panties are the same colour with a minimal triangle of mesh like material at the front and thin elastic everywhere else. Fit wise this fit well on a size 18-20, 40E frame. The cups provided a good level of support. Although the light boning did bow out a little bit when in use and was not particularly flattering. The central lace/bead/criss-cross patter which looked quite stylish when laid out on the bed actually felt a little old-fashioned and cheap when worn in our view. It gives of western saloon girl vibes but just didnt work for us. We are also fans of detachable suspenders and we would have preferred this. However they were sturdy and the metal clips ensures your stockings will stay in place even with some fairly vigorous activity. We find g-string panties are not very flattering on a larger body with the back kind of being swallowed up completely. However the thing that caused the most irritation was the crossed straps. The criss-cross at theback can look great but the issue was how difficult it made the basque to fasten solo with the straps being quite restrictive. Once on they looked great from behind and possibly made the basque a little more supportive but it was quite awkward. Overal this sounds quite negative and we accept that a lot of our criticisms are personal preference. The quality of the basque is great. no loose stitching and all the straps, hooks etc were well put together meaning this should last a good while. The purple colour was fantastic and we would certainly consider over items in that colour but perhaps with slightly different styling.

The Fit: This fits me really well. My broad shoulders are not a problem and it hugs nicely around the middle. The padded bra has some depth to it so this is wearable without any extra inserts and such. It’s nice to have an outfit that holds together nicely without needing boobs in there. G-strings aren’t very useful as a guy so that element is less ideal and is never going to ‘fit ‘ so I match this with other panties. The Feel: This outfit is silky smooth to the touch all over. None of it feels cheap, running a hand over it gives the feeling of quality materials so the illusion of class (total illusion for me :D) doesn’t drop. It feels seductive and elaborate on, and feels like one of my nicest and most impactful sets. The Build: The whole set has a really high quality feel to it, like you’d expect from higher end lingerie, it’s clearly been thought about and well designed. It has the feel that it will last for a long time and it’s a proper piece of clothing.

The set arrived super quickly and discreetly, with the amazing service from Lovehoney! This set truly does scream luxury. The colouring is deep and rich, while the satin and lace panelling are silky smooth. The pearl detailing along with the sheer panel in the centre give it an expensive feel. The straps can either be worn as a regular bra or as racetrack, which is a fantastic feature. It can be fiddly to put on initially with all of the eyelet hooks, but once it’s on it feels beautiful. The bra straps and suspender straps are adjustable to suit your shape. As a curvier girl, the cups were a little on the small side for me, but holy moly, did they push all the mincemeat to the top of the pie! What a cleavage this gives! Overall, this set made me feel incredibly sexy and received rampant praise from my partner! Paired with the Lovehoney Satin Romance Black Open-Back Pearl Crotchless Knickers, this set is just to die for!

These are beautiful. The colours are so vivid and so lovely and the Fabric feels great. Unfortunately the fit is slightly off on me but that may be due to me being shorter than average, just a bit lose and bulgy around the edges. every other thing about it is perfect
